The difference between the jewish terrorist and the palestinian terror is that the vast population of Israel was mortified and ashamed to hear that one of their own had committed such an act, and an investigation was launched to determine if there was a anything which could have been differently by the authorities to avoid it. On the other hand, when a palestinian commits an identical attrocity, there are celebrations in the streets, and the perp (and his family) become instant heros. They even recieve monetary compensation from the PA and various 'charities' as well.

Both sides have enough reasons to hate each other, the real question is - who is trying to overcome the violence, and who is encouraging it?

They weren't just "given plots". It was somewhat like a sharecropping system, where land was given under the understanding that the land must be developed and made arable. From what I undertstand, explicit ownership of the land never was in the hands of those settling it in the first place.

I'm curious. When Israel took the land in Gaza in 1967 for Jewish settlements, was the settlers required to purchase protions for their own use? If they were simply given their plots then why should there be compensation for stolen land that they got for free? Now doubt in some round about way it will be the US taxpayers that flip the bill..But I agree with your friend. What goes around comes around..
